The intent of the program, over a three-year period, is to deliver information and incentives to agricultural producers to enhance their operation with the goal to improve species at risk habitat and maintain a sustainable operation.
Agricultural producers are the largest private-land stewards in Manitoba and provide significant and valuable habitat for a variety of threatened and non-threatened wildlife. Through the Environmental Farm Plan process, producers will gain knowledge of species at risk they might encounter, and get access to incentive funding.
MHHC is participating in this initiative through the development of species at risk maps and the delivery of cost-shared incentive programs. All participants in the EFP process will be eligible funding to support the enhancement or integration of beneficial management practices on their land.
